This step segments the input data into several tables, which all have the same format and are thus represented by the same single output concept of this step. The step applies to the GENDER attribute of the input concept; this attribute takes the values 'Male' and 'Female'. For each of these values there is a table (Columnset) connected to the output concept of this step, where one columnset contains the data rows with value 'Male' and the other the rows with 'Female'. Thus the attribute GENDER is not present in the output concept. The following steps each apply to both columnsets attached to the output concept, until the 'Unsegment' step which re-unifies the two columnsets. Assuming, for example, that 80 percent of the persons represented in the input of this step are male, the output of this chain is a concept in which the gender distribution is guaranteed to be roughly equal (50 percent each).
